Calvary Ministries Choir Concludes Powerful Gospel Crusade in Kyanamukaka, Masaka: Over 40 Souls Won for Christ
Masaka, Uganda – July 22, 2025
In a powerful demonstration of music, ministry, and mission, the Calvary Ministries Choir has successfully concluded a two-week Gospel Crusade held at Kyanamukaka in Masaka District. The event, which ran from July 5th to July 19th, 2025, was marked by vibrant worship, uplifting sermons, and a strong spirit of community transformation.
The crusade brought spiritual revival to the rural heartland of Masaka, resulting in more than 40 individuals accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. These new converts are expected to join the Seventh-day Adventist Church and become part of its mission to spread the Gospel of the Three Angels’ Message in Uganda and beyond.
Music and Mission: A Powerful Partnership
True to its identity as a Gospel-centered choir rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist faith, Calvary Ministries Choir blended the ministry of music with outreach and evangelism. Their heartfelt singing, often delivered in local languages such as Luganda, provided a powerful medium for conveying the Word of God to the people.
The choir held daily evening sessions that featured not only spiritual music but also powerful preaching from seasoned pastors and lay evangelists. Topics ranged from salvation by grace, preparation for Christ’s second coming, family restoration, and the importance of Sabbath keeping, drawing the attention of people from nearby villages and trading centers.
Over 40 Baptized and a New Church Planted
The most significant spiritual outcome of the crusade was the baptism of over 40 people, who publicly committed their lives to Christ through immersion in a joyous baptism ceremony held on July 19th, the final day of the crusade.
To sustain the spiritual growth of these new believers and provide a permanent home for the emerging congregation, Through the efforts of Mrs Mubiru of Luzira district, a piece of land was aquired where a church will be established. A temporary church structure has already been constructed on the site to facilitate weekly worship and nurture the growing fellowship.
This development is a major boost to the Adventist mission in Masaka, particularly in rural zones where churches are few and the Gospel has not fully penetrated. The establishment of this church also aligns with the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s strategic aim of reaching “unentered” areas across Uganda.
Community Response and Impact
The local community responded enthusiastically to the outreach. During the course of the crusade, attendance steadily grew as news of the meetings spread. Many testimonies were shared by villagers who experienced healing, and spiritual transformation. Some testified of broken homes being mended, addictions being overcome, and new hope arising where despair once ruled.
“We thank God for this amazing work. These people came not just to sing, but to preach, serve, and plant a lasting legacy in our village,” said Mr. Paul Sserwadda, a local elder who hosted the visiting team. “We have never seen such a strong combination of music and ministry in our area. Calvary Ministries Choir has left a permanent mark.”
The newly planted church has already formed its initial leadership team and is set to be nurtured by the Nabinene Church District of the Central Uganda Conference, with support from nearby churches and field workers.
A Model for Future Missions
This Gospel crusade is part of Calvary Ministries Choir’s broader strategy to go beyond music concerts and take on a more holistic evangelistic approach—combining singing, preaching, community service, and church planting. Their efforts align with the emerging trend among Adventist choirs in Uganda to take up a more proactive missionary role, going beyond performance to frontline evangelism.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the choir’s mission director emphasized that this is only the beginning. “We are committed to bringing the Gospel to every corner of Uganda, especially the hard-to-reach and neglected areas,” he said. “Wherever God sends us, we will go—not just with music, but with tents, tools, Bibles, and the love of Christ.”
Conclusion
The Kyanamukaka Gospel Crusade has proven once again that music, when coupled with purpose and prayer, can transform lives and communities. The fruit of over 40 souls saved, a new church established, and a strong spiritual presence planted in Kyanamukaka is a testament to what God can do through dedicated lay ministries like Calvary Ministries Choir.
As the dust settles and the last songs of praise echo through the hills of Masaka, one thing is certain—the Gospel has taken root, and Kyanamukaka will never be the same again.
